The Gateway Parrot Club, Inc. is a 501c3 not for profit organization based in St. Louis Missouri and established in 1988 to:
- Bring people together in a friendly atmosphere in the interest of exchanging information on bird care and breeding.
- Create interest in bird care and responsible breeding through monthly educational programs and annual bird fairs.
- Reduce neglect, cruelty and abuse of captive birds through education and public outreach.
- Educate the public, as well as ourselves, on the ever present danger of extinction in the wild.
Our five officers are elected to staggered two year terms.

It’s great to be retired and have enough time to give to our parrots!
I enjoy serving on the board of GPC and enjoy attending the meetings. It’s nice to have a group that loves to get together and have a good time and share knowledge of parrots. What’s really nice is the birds love to come to the meetings too! It’s a great place to socialize your bird(s).
My hobbies include playing with parrots, making parrot toys, cooking for parrots, cleaning up after them, attending as many parrot conferences and seminars as possible, reading as many parrot magazines and websites, hanging out at Varietees on Saturdays, and making sure our birds have all they need to be happy bappies!
