Welcome To Gateway Parrot Club!
The Gateway Parrot Club, Inc. is a 501c3 not for profit organization based in St. Louis Missouri and established in 1988 to:
- Bring people together in a friendly atmosphere in the interest of exchanging information on bird care and breeding.
- Create interest in bird care and responsible breeding through monthly educational programs and annual bird fairs.
- Reduce neglect, cruelty and abuse of captive birds through education and public outreach.
- Educate the public, as well as ourselves, on the ever present danger of extinction in the wild.
Our main events are our monthly meetings, usually held the third Sunday of each month, at the Kirkwood Community Center in Kirkwood, MO. Visitors are welcome! The meeting begins with a hospitality session. After a review of Club issues we generally have an interesting speaker on a topic of interest to the group.
Monthly meetings begin at 1:00 PM and are held at:

2019 Grants Awarded...
This year's grants were awarded to organizations supporting our mission statement, based on nomination and voting of our members. All active members present at the March meeting voted to give $500 grants to each of the following 3 organizations for a total of $1,500.
World Bird Sanctuary - World Bird Sanctuary (WBS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that preserves, protects, and inspires to safeguard bird species as part of the global community for future generations. Their mission is accomplished through education, captive breeding, field studies, and rehabilitation. www.worldbirdsanctuary.org
Bird Endowment, Saving the Blues - The well-being of all birds, especially parrots, is Bird Endowment's passion. Our daily labor, however, is breaking the extinction vortex into which the Blue-throated Macaw has been thrust. In the wild, we support Blue-throated Macaw conservation projects that are planned and executed with stakeholder consensus. In captivity, our facility empowers Blue-throated Macaw parents to fledge and wean their offspring in the safety of a protected captive environment. www.birdendowment.org
STAR (St. Louis Avian Rescue) - St. Louis Avian Rescue (STAR) is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist companion birds in need of homes and to educate the community regarding bird care and health.
