Welcome To Gateway Parrot Club!
Our Mission...
The Gateway Parrot Club, Inc. is a 501c3 not for profit organization based in St. Louis Missouri and established in 1988 to:
- Bring people together in a friendly atmosphere in the interest of exchanging information on bird care and breeding.
- Create interest in bird care and responsible breeding through monthly educational programs and annual bird fairs.
- Reduce neglect, cruelty and abuse of captive birds through education and public outreach.
- Educate the public, as well as ourselves, on the ever present danger of extinction in the wild.

RAFFLE:
We will have our monthly raffle table (tickets for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00) as well as a membership drive for new members and renewals.
REMINDERS
Fully flighted birds MUST be on a harness or remain in a carrier. While clipped/unflighted birds are welcome to attend without a harness or carrier, we strongly suggest using a carrier for transport to and from the venue.
Be tidy! We know parrots make it hard to stay clean. We all must be good pet parents and clean up after our own birds. Please clean up any messes as they occur so we leave the facility clean.
Masks are not required and the choice to continue masking is a personal one. Please be respectful of all attendees.
Monthly meetings begin at 1:00 PM and are held at:
Five Oaks on Warson
1200 N Warson Rd, Olivette, MO 63132

2019 Grants Awarded...
This year's grants were awarded to organizations supporting our mission statement, based on nomination and voting of our members. All active members present at the March meeting voted to give $500 grants to each of the following 3 organizations for a total of $1,500.
World Bird Sanctuary -
World Bird Sanctuary (WBS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that preserves, protects, and inspires to safeguard bird species as part of the global community for future generations. Their mission is accomplished through education, captive breeding, field studies, and rehabilitation. www.worldbirdsanctuary.org
Bird Endowment, Saving the Blues -
The well-being of all birds, especially parrots, is Bird Endowment's passion. Our daily labor, however, is breaking the extinction vortex into which the Blue-throated Macaw has been thrust. In the wild, we support Blue-throated Macaw conservation projects that are planned and executed with stakeholder consensus. In captivity, our facility empowers Blue-throated Macaw parents to fledge and wean their offspring in the safety of a protected captive environment. www.birdendowment.org
STAR - St. Louis Avian Rescue -
St. Louis Avian Rescue (STAR) is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist companion birds in need of homes and to educate the community regarding bird care and health. They have volunteers who foster a variety of bird species with the eventual goal of the placement of these birds in forever homes. staravian.org
